The Wornington Word
The Wornington Word: A People's History of The Wornington Green Estate W10 was a year long project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The project was initiated and directed by Natasha Langridge under the umbrella of her theatre company, Renegade Theatre with support from Venture Community Association.
Over a hundred local residents, Venture goers and Althone Park walkers came together to train in oral history taking, documentary making, photography, audio editing, creative writing and social media skills to create The People's History of Wornington Green.
Seventeen oral histories were recorded and over two hundred photos were collected all of which are now archived in the RBKC Local Studies and Archives. During the course of the project a 40 minute documentary was made, The Wornington Word, which won the Best UK Documentary at the 2020 Portobello Film Festival and was shortlisted for the Best Documentary Film Award at London's Lift Off Film Festival 2021.
